The official rule
LINE's help table lists the unsend time limit as within 1 hour of sending for the standard feature and within 7 days for LINE Premium members. Deleting a message has no time limit, but it only removes it from your own chat room. In OpenChat the limit is 24 hours whether or not you have Premium.
Why it changed
LINE's Help Center says the unsend period changes based on how people use the service, from 24 hours to 1 hour, and that timing varies by country. In Taiwan, media reported in March 2026 that LINE announced a gradual change at the same time LINE Premium launched in Taiwan, so your app may not have applied the new rule at exactly the same time as someone else's.
Unsend versus delete
Unsend removes the message from both your chat and the other person's, and shows "message unsent". Premium members can unsend unread messages without that notice. LINE also warns that the other person may still see part of the content in a system push notification shown before you unsent it.
