Privacy
This site does not track you. No analytics, no advertising, and it sets no cookies.
What we don't do
There is no Google Analytics and no other analytics script. No ads, no advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking. The site sets no cookies at all, and does not use localStorage to record what you do.
Fonts are self-hosted, so no request goes to Google Fonts. The little icons next to each source are self-hosted copies too — which means reading an entry does not tell the sites we cite that you were here.
Hosting, and the logging we can't switch off
The site runs on Cloudflare Workers with content in Cloudflare D1. As our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare processes your requests and keeps operational logs in order to deliver pages and absorb abusive traffic.
That layer is not ours to disable, but it is not wired into any analytics or advertising system, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
The one third-party script
The footer carries Google's "Preferred Sources" button. Once the page itself has finished loading and the browser goes idle, your browser fetches a script from news.google.com to draw that button — which means it loads whether or not you ever scroll down to it.
That script is Google's and is governed by Google's privacy policy. Only if you actually press the button does this site get added to your Google account's preferred sources. It is the only third-party script on the site.
What you send us
When you submit a question or a correction, we receive what you wrote and the address you sent it from. We use that to reply to you and to decide whether the question becomes an entry.
It is never sold, never handed to a third party, and never added to a marketing list. If you'd like us to delete what you sent, just say so.
